About Me

Nashville, TN, United States
I am a mom to amazing twin girls, a wife, and I work full time. I battled infertility for 2 years and over the course of treatments, a twin pregnancy, and raising twins I managed to gain about 80 lbs. I’ve lost about 50 lbs so far and would like to lose another 50 in my quest to become a hot mama.

Nursery Progress

It's not much but here are some pics of the nursery:

15 weeks

How far along: 15 weeks, 0 days

Total Weight Gain: 9.0 lbs (although we ate at Cheesecake Factory last night...so I was not apt to step on the scale this morning)

Symptoms: I feel amazingly fantastic.  I LOVE being pregnant and my growing belly.  The only new issues going on is some hip pain that gets worse when I am standing.  Nothing to complain about though!

Stretch Marks: No new ones...I have one old one that looks like it might be elongating.  Not like I planned on wearing a bikini any time soon anyways!

Sleep: I am sleeping even better now that I don't have to get up a million times to go to the bathroom.  Looks like I am getting a little bit of a reprieve.

Best Moment Last Week: Getting the first crib set up in the nursery!

Movement: I think I am getting closer.  I have felt a few bubbles that have made me go "hmmm" but nothing definite yet.  I can't wait though!

Food Cravings: None. But lots of food in general.  I have discovered a new level of hungry that I have never felt before...the kind that makes you want to vomit.  And this happens about every hour!

What I Miss: Nothing this week.

What am I looking forward to:  Going to Atlanta this weekend to do some baby shopping at Ikea and making our registry this weekend!

Milestones: Actually having something in our nursery that makes it look like a nursery!

How is Daddy? Getting excited.  He is touching my belly a whole lot more now and I love it.  There is nothing more sweet than showing his love towards his two little ones!

Some 15 weeks pics:

End of an Era

So last night marked the end of an era.  A wild, rebellious, fun era in my life.  Yes, last night I had to say goodbye to my beloved nipple rings.

Yes, I know....I don't look like "that kind of girl." But alas I am...or was.  I LOVE tattoos and body piercings.  I love the rush of adrenaline from getting a new piercing or feeling of fresh ink.  Sadistic?  Maybe.  Cathartic.  Absolutely.

Not let's back track...I got these fun adornments while I was still in college.  This was not a quarter-life crisis decision.  But for the past two weeks I've noticed that both piercings have become increasingly nasty...almost as if they were getting infected.  I chalked it up to by giagantor tits growing and the tissue stretching.  Low and behold, I realized last night that I am already "leaking."  In a panic (because I didn't think this should be happening so early) I went to my hand dandy friend google.  Apparently this is totally normal...and the buildup on the piercings is actually dried breast milk and protein.

My hubby helped me remove them in kind of a ceremonial "Your quickly becoming a mom" procession.  So they are out...for better or worse.  At least now they will have some time to heal up before I have two milk monsters gnawing on my tits.

The view is scary from up here!

I looked down today and realized I can't see my zipper anymore (coincidently I can't see my lady bits and pieces either...which raises a grooming concern).

Can't wait till I can't reach my keyboard anymore!  I LOVE my growing belly!  Now if it would just round out so I look legitimately pregnant and not just like I've been hitting the doughnuts!

Baby shower cake...final product

As many of you know, I made my first 2-tiered fondant cake for a friends baby shower 2 weeks ago.  As promised, here is the finished product.

13 weeks

I haven't been very good at chronicling this pregnancy...so no better time than the present right?  I borrowed this from Pricilla at It only takes one time...not!.  I thought it was a great summary for the week to week updates.

How far along: 13 weeks, 4 days

Total Weight Gain: 7.5 lbs

Symptoms: I feel amazing. Everyone keeps saying "oh just wait...you'll feel it soon" but I think that they are just a bunch of Debbie downers!  My MS has subsided, the breast tenderness has almost subsided, and the headaches seem to be fewer and fewer.

Stretch Marks: None yet...which is amazing considering how fast my tummy is growing!

Sleep: I've been sleeping pretty well.  I get up 1-2 times in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom....but so far I can fall right back asleep after!

Best Moment Last Week: Starting my 2nd trimester!!!

Movement: Nothing definite yet.  I felt a few "bubbles" last week...but nothing this week.  I absolutely can't wait to be able to feel them!!  I am really hoping that both placentas are posterior so I will be able to feel the kicks from the outside early!

Food Cravings: Root beer.

What I Miss: Sushi.  Weird. I know.

What am I looking forward to:  Feeling the first kicks!

Milestones: This past weekend we went to a consignment store and found a few great nursery items!!

How is Daddy? Excited.  He picked out most of the things at the store for the nursery and even found us a book on twins.  Last night we sat on the couch and he rubbed by belly for a while. It was so sweet and felt so good on the stretching muscles!

Happy 2nd Trimester!

Finally....I am out of the dreaded first trimester!  I never thought I'd make it here! On April fools day of all days!

Let's recap the first trimester:

My Appearance

  • Total weight gain=7 lbs
  • Look like I'm rocking a beer gut...not quite the round belly I am hoping for.
  • Bra size went from a D to an E.  I can officially call it an "Over the shoulder boulder holder" and mean it
  • I haven't colored my hair since I found out I was pregnant...so I am starting to look a little more like a wrecked crack whore day by day. Thank god I've got all my teeth.
  • Picture from the start to the end of the first tri:
