Well DH and I started P90X 3 weeks ago. I hit a point where the pregnancy weight was just not coming off anymore and I still had about 16lbs left to lose. In total I gained about 45lbs (I am just guessing because in the last 2 or so weeks I didn't bother weighing myself). After 2 weeks of P90X I've lost 5lbs.
I must say the program is really intense. I've never done most of the workouts in the DVDs and you REALLY feel the burn the next day. I am quite surprised with the intensity for a home workout!
I am still rocking the maternity clothing. I've tried several times to put on some of my non-maternity things and they simply don't fit. Some of them will button, but they form such an obscence muffin top that I'd rather not. My goal is to be back into my clothing before I return to work in January which I think is really doable. I am struggling with my abdominal muscles because it split from bottom to top through the middle during the pregnancy. After I gave birth the doctor said there was about a 2 inch gap between the abdominal walls.
I have absolutely no desire to wear a 2 piece suit again but I would like to at least be able to wear normal clothing and look thinner and fit.
So for now I will keep fighting the good fight!
I am beyond impressed that you are doing the P90X workouts now!!! My twins are 6 months and I still don't have the energy to attempt more than some abs and a 20 minute cardio routine.
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome and good luck!!
Very impressed with your workout!
ReplyDeleteI am so amazed that you're already back to working out!!! I have trouble finding time with my 1 baby. But I'm with you totally on the clothes struggle. And it just makes me feel worse about my body right now since my clothes make me look ridiculous! We have a friend who is on the P90X workout routine and is looking great!!!
ReplyDeleteThat workout is a killer! But it works, good for you. I found that even with the weight off, my body is just so different that my clothes fit weirdly, things must have just shifted which would mean that some parts are smaller but I really don't see evidence if that. Keep it up girl!! You motivate me to start working out again.
ReplyDeleteGood on you girl! I know what you mean about carrying around the pregnancy weight.. I haven't even started thinking about exercising yet but D and I have started walking Isabella around which I suppose counts as exercise. I think soon enough I will start following your lead and start doing some proper exercise!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Amber and impressed that you are finding the time/energy to work out with twins! With just one I feel like I'm spending all day 'doing' but still not accomplishing much of anything.
ReplyDeleteNormal clothing by January seems totally doable.
blah. that's what I have to say about fighting with my body to resemble it's prepregnant self. I'll be posting about this soon. I'm impressed that you can find the time and ENERGY to exercise with twins!
