I am a mom to amazing twin girls, a wife, and I work full time. I battled infertility for 2 years and over the course of treatments, a twin pregnancy, and raising twins I managed to gain about 80 lbs. I’ve lost about 50 lbs so far and would like to lose another 50 in my quest to become a hot mama.

GTT Passed!

I passed my 1 hour glucose tolerance test.  Thank God.  I can't lie...I was worried just because of the propensity towards GD in PCOS'ers.  I guess taking my Metformin through this pregnancy has paid off!

Now if I could just figure out how to battle this unbelievable horrible back pain I would be a very happy camper.  So far pelvic tilts and chiropractor work have not helped.  Hopefully I'll find something that helps because there have been a few nights this week I've been on the cusp of crying it hurts so bad.  I can't even begin to imagine how much worse it is going to get over the next few weeks.

  1. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! What I thought would be no big deal has turned into something more complicated. I check my blood 4 times a day and inject 3 times, but the worst part is the scheduled prescribed diet. Sucks, but it'll be worth it =)

So sorry about your back...I hope it resolves itself SOON!

  2. Congratulations on passing the test!

My sympathies on the back pain. Wish I had good suggestions...maybe spending time floating in a pool or luke-warm tub would help? I'm hoping to get the okay from my OB this week on using the massaging feature on our recliner to help keep mine from getting so bad.

  3. Great news about the test! I didn't pass and I agree with Tracey that it is a total bummer having to check blood sugars 4 times a day. Luckily I am on orals not insulin but it will all be over soon! I have been in the pool a lot lately and it feels great on my back-good luck with the pain!

  5. My OB prescribed me lidoderm patches to apply to my back when it was causing me lots of pain. They worked really well and are safe in pregnancy.

Congrats on passing the 3 hour GTT!!!

  6. Cograts on passing the GTT! That is GREAT news! So sorry to hear about your bad back pain..isn't there something safe that they can give you or one of those back belts that you can wear during pregnancy. At my parenting class they showed us how to use a birthing ball to relieve back pain and I have to say it has helped. Maybe it's something worth looking into. Thinking of you xxx
