I am not a complainer. Really, I'm not. I haven't blogged about the stretch marks, the back pain, the hip pain, the sciatic nerves, nothing.... But this fatigue, I am going to complain about.
I woke up this morning, and my first thought was to cry. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyy has the alarm gone off already. I mean I went to bed at 10pm, made it all the way through the night without getting up to pee (which was a mistake), and the alarm went off 5am. So why do I feel worse than all of those night in college where I pulled all nighters studying for organic chemistry (sorry I just vomited in my mouth thinking about it).
It seems to be getting progressively worse too. A few weeks ago, I would simply feel a little bit more tired before bed. Now waking up is a chore.
I just can't believe that this is a normal feeling for 22 weeks pregnant.
Ugh that's the worst! Girl you got two little ones in there so that says to me that being extra super crazy tired is normal. I'm actually a little jealous of your ability to sleep! There's nothing worse than being exhausted and not being able to anything about it though. I'm sorry...
ReplyDeleteOh that sucks! Fatigue will make the rest of your life just awful! Try to go to bed earlier tonight - hopefully that will help. Seriously, 7 hours may not be enough for you right now. If that doesn't help, talk to your doc about it. A friend of mine had extreme fatigue, and it turned out she was a little anemic, and needed an iron supplement. Just a thought. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get up overnight either! Of course, that meant I was awake (unwillingly) before the alarm went off at 5:45, and really wanted to go back to sleep after I crawled back into bed to wait for DH to get up and do his morning routine.
ReplyDeleteCan you take a nap at your desk over lunch, or is your car parked somewhere you would feel comfortable (and not overheat) napping in it at lunch?
Otherwise, I vote for both Tracey's two little ones and Alex's going to bed earlier theories!
Extreme fatigue could be a sign of anemia...have you asked your doc about that? I'm sure you have, but I thought I'd mention it. Hope that is doesn't get too much worse...in fact I hope it gets easier!! Sorry babe!! xox
ReplyDeleteMaybe ask to have your thyroid and iron checked, just to rule out those problems?
ReplyDeleteI was pretty darn tired at 22 weeks. I fell asleep on the couch almost every night around 7:00, and woke up around 6AM. Now I think it's only better because I'm not working - so I'm getting a lot more rest.
And, complain away, and don't feel an ounce of guilt for doing so! It doesn't matter how you got there, and it doesn't make you ungrateful. Twin pregnancy is HARD on the body!
I'm only carrying 1 baby and I feel exhausted. I drag myself out of bed in the morning already trying to plan when I can sneak in a nap. Not a good feeling. But you're doing alot of work in that body of yours right now!
ReplyDeleteSorry you're feeling so tired! Isn't it funny what we put ourselves through to get pregnant and then we never get sleep again. Ever. Lol! It'll all be worth it in the end, though!
ReplyDeleteSorry you're so tired but think of the end result!
ReplyDeleteAre you taking iron supplements? My doctor prescribed those for all women pregnant with multiples because he said that the babies just drain every bit of iron from you. Also, I think I recall feeling pretty tired around now ... isn't 22 weeks a major growth spurt (weight-wise) for the babies?
ReplyDeleteHang in there, girl. Hopefully it will pass soon.
(P.S. Way to give me shudders remembering cramming for O. Chem. Yuck!!)
Oh it is so normal! By 13w with twins, I need two naps a day! By the time I was in the 20s, I was sleeping more than I was awake!
