So after my previous post in which I mentioned that the bleeding was slowing down, I experienced a huge gush of bright pink/red blood Friday night. This was enough to tip me over the edge. I cried the entire night. On Saturday I went in to the RE and told them what happened. The did an u/s and found both babies with 2 perfect heartbeats. I was quite relieved. The doctor said sometimes this just happens. It's scary, but it happens. They did find something "suspicious" on the u/s which she said could be a bleed. She said we won't really know for a few more days because these things tend to not show up on u/s until after the fact.
She decided that we should stop the baby aspirin. She feels this could be the root of all evil. I was feeling good after leaving there until I passed a clot the size of a marble about an hour later. That marked the last of the bleeding. The only thing I could guess is that when the u/s tech was wanding me, she knocked something lose at the top of the cervix.
I stopped the Aspirin on Saturday. The bleeding seems to be slowing down again. I just pray both of our babies show up on u/s this Friday for our last appointment with the RE.
HUGE PRAYERS to you and your babies. It sounds like everything is good now - seeing those heartbeats really helps. I can imagine how scared you are, though. I'd be freaking out too. You are obviously under very good care and they are going to ensure that the babies remain healthy. I'd tell you try not to think about it, but that is impossible. Just remember that you just saw them and you will see them again soon and that all that blood was obviously not the worst happening because they are there safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteWhy oh why must you be put through this crap, though? I'd like to create a rule where if you've stuggled with IF, you should get to have guaranteed drama-free pregnancies. It's so unfair. Hang in there!
XOXO
Thanks Tracey. I am doing my best to stay positive. I've had no cramping at all, so that's gotta be a good sign, right?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tracey! We IF-ers should have perfect pregnancies!! Praying that the bleeding completely stops and both babies are perfect on Friday.
ReplyDeleteI was going to 2nd Tracey, but see that Jess beat me to it!
ReplyDeleteI very much hope the rest of your week is drama free!
Emily, Praying for you and the babies.
ReplyDeleteGlad the RE was able to reassure you a little Saturday. Here's hoping the scary bleeding stops soon, though I have heard of lots of women bleed, who go on to have live babies.
ReplyDeletePraying for you. Glad you were able to get to the RE and see those two perfect heartbeats!
ReplyDeleteKeeping you and your little ones in my prayers!
ReplyDeleteEmily....I have followed your blog for a while just quietly...I wanted to tell you first of all CONGRATULATIONS! I too did invitro and got pregnant with twins. I also had tons of bleeding during the first few weeks of pregnancy. Very scary and annoying but each time I went in to the RE everything was fine. For whatever reason being pregnant with twins and IVF can cause you to bleed. You have two strong heartbeats so I think your doing great! BTW being a Mommy to Twins is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much everyone! I'll keep you posted on the results of Friday's u/s.
ReplyDeleteOh Emily, that sounds so scary. I so hope that was the end of the bleeding.
ReplyDeleteYou're in our thoughts!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so scary...I'm so sorry you're going through this worry again. Praying hard for you & the twins, please keep us posted!
ReplyDeletePraying for you!
ReplyDeleteSweetie praying all is well with both babies.... I know it's hard but keep thinking positive.. thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteI hope so too! Wow, how terrifying! Glad everything still looks good.
ReplyDeletePassing clots is soooo scary. I am glad things have settled down, and if you're not having cramping that's a great sign. I will keep praying for your babies and for you!!
