My appointment went WAYYYY better than I thought it would in my head.
The brought me in, had me hop up on my favorite table. The put the speculum in, cleaned the cervix with betadine, then gave me a shot of lidocaine to numb it. She put the stich in and besides the pressure, I couldn't feel anything. The most uncomfortable part was her trying to manuever her hands down between my legs to put the stitch in.
I really need to stop getting myself worked up like that.
She looked at my chart and everything is looking good. She said the plan is to transfer 2 embryos. I can' believe it is almost transfer time!
Dear lord, please let this be "the one"!!!!!
Here's a picture of all the scary stuff they had laying out!
I'm so glad it went well! Praying for success!!
ReplyDeleteI don't understand...why did you need the stitches?
ReplyDeleteYay for Lidocaine! Hope Monday goes just as easy with equally great results.
ReplyDeleteDuring my last transfer they had a REALLY difficult time getting the catheter through. The wound up having to use a tenaculum and dilator which is really bad because it can cause uterine contractions and obviously is very invasive. They put a stitch in right above my cervix this time and leave the string danglining. This way at my transfer they can use the string that is hanging like a marionette to manipulate the cervix so they can get the catheter through.
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know they could do something like that! Thanks for educating me!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the stitching being over!! I am so glad it wasn't too bad! Thanks for explaining the cervical stitch ... I hadn't heard of that before so it was very interesting to learn about. I really hope it makes your transfer go smoothly and perfectly! I can't believe it's happening on Monday!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so amazing that they can do a procedure like that! It's hard to not get worked up about the unknown though - especially when it involves needles and stitching! So glad it was easy breezy!
ReplyDeleteYay!! So glad it's over with and it wasn't that bad!! Praying that this is "the one!!"
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this, amazing what they can do! Hoping this is the cycle that brings you much joy!
